Raw stays on Drive. The job lives in Timeliner.

Edward gets one task per shoot with the link in it. He sorts, cuts and grades, then each graded cut lands on its video's task for the editor.

This is one video's task. The graded cut stays underneath, so it can be cut into shorts later.

Edward

His job in six steps.

  1. 01

    Get the ping

The task holds the Drive link, the file count, the shoot plan and the list of videos.

    Timeliner
  2. 02

    Download with Drive for Desktop

Not the browser. Chrome's zips dropped 4 of 151 clips on the Holgate shoot and gave no error.

    Drive
  3. 03

    Check the count

Files and size must match the task before he starts.

    Task brief
  4. 04

    Sort in Resolve bins

Talking, B roll, Drone. Never rename or move the camera files, because links and proxies rely on those names.

    Resolve
  5. 05

    Cut and grade

Cut to the script, then Base v3 on camera footage and the Drone grade on drone clips.

    Resolve
  6. 06

    Pass it on

One check reel on his task, one graded cut on each video's task, named the same as the task, and the .drp on the Project file tab.

    Timeliner

Long form

YouTube starts with Ben.

Ben makes the first cut and nothing after it. Shorts and trailers never go to him.

Ben

First cut

Off the proxies on Drive. He's on the task only until the cut is up.

YouTube only

Edward

Grade

Against the originals, then up as the bottom version.

Timeliner + Resolve

Ryan or an editor

Edit

Takes over the task and stacks the edit on top.

Timeliner

Jesse Burgess is different. Ben plans the videos and writes the briefs. Editors are tagged on the tasks and do the edits.

First test

Prove it on one shoot.

Jackson Griffiths 261104: 28 files, 31 GB, and Edward's already downloading it.

TestPassIf not
Edward uploads a graded cut. Does it jump into review after 15 minutes? It stays in To Do for the editor.Graded cuts go on the task's Files tab instead of V1.
Does his cloud project open on Lloyd's Mac with media online?Lloyd can step in on any shoot. The cloud stays Edward's alone and the .drp is the way back in.
How long does the download take?Done overnight, Philippines time.Cut on proxies, then pull only the originals he used.

Drive holds the footage. Timeliner holds the job.

Nobody has to ask where the files are or whether it's ready.
