Edward gets one task per shoot with the link in it. He sorts, cuts and grades, then each graded cut lands on its video's task for the editor.
Short form
Gold is the new part. Review, client approval and delivery stay as they are.
Lloyd
Content Sorter copies the cards. Originals go to the client's Media folder.
DriveEdward
A task pings him once every file is up. He works in the cloud project.
Timeliner + ResolveLloyd
One reel on Edward's task. Notes on the frame. First five shoots, then spot checks.
TimelinerUyen
Graded cuts are on the video tasks. Tagging sends the ping.
TimelinerEditor
Brief and graded cut are on the task. The edit stacks over it.
TimelinerFiles
This is one video's task. The graded cut stays underneath, so it can be cut into shorts later.
| File | Home | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Camera originals | Google Drive, linked on the task | Timeliner's own FAQ says to keep big raw on Drive and link it. Grading needs the real log files, not proxies. |
| Resolve project | Blackmagic Cloud, plus a .drp on the task | Cloud to work in. The .drp is the backup if the cloud copy goes offline. |
| Graded cut | Timeliner, V1 on the video's task | The editor finds it with the brief, with no Slack message needed. |
| Finished edit | Timeliner, V2 on top | Review and client approval run from here. |
| Approved master | Drive, client's Exports folder | Same as today. |
Edward
The task holds the Drive link, the file count, the shoot plan and the list of videos.
Not the browser. Chrome's zips dropped 4 of 151 clips on the Holgate shoot and gave no error.
Files and size must match the task before he starts.
Talking, B roll, Drone. Never rename or move the camera files, because links and proxies rely on those names.
Cut to the script, then Base v3 on camera footage and the Drone grade on drone clips.
One check reel on his task, one graded cut on each video's task, named the same as the task, and the .drp on the Project file tab.
Long form
Ben makes the first cut and nothing after it. Shorts and trailers never go to him.
Ben
Off the proxies on Drive. He's on the task only until the cut is up.
YouTube onlyEdward
Against the originals, then up as the bottom version.
Timeliner + ResolveRyan or an editor
Takes over the task and stacks the edit on top.
TimelinerJesse Burgess is different. Ben plans the videos and writes the briefs. Editors are tagged on the tasks and do the edits.
First test
Jackson Griffiths 261104: 28 files, 31 GB, and Edward's already downloading it.
| Test | Pass | If not |
|---|---|---|
| Edward uploads a graded cut. Does it jump into review after 15 minutes? | It stays in To Do for the editor. | Graded cuts go on the task's Files tab instead of V1. |
| Does his cloud project open on Lloyd's Mac with media online? | Lloyd can step in on any shoot. | The cloud stays Edward's alone and the .drp is the way back in. |
| How long does the download take? | Done overnight, Philippines time. | Cut on proxies, then pull only the originals he used. |
Nobody has to ask where the files are or whether it's ready.
